Adminstration Overview
We want to thank all of our parishioners who are trying to live a Stewardship Way of Life. You have put God first! He is the priority in the life of your family. We see so many good things happening all around us. The Sunday Mass in your parish with your family is so important. Your giving of yourselves in the various ministries and activities of the parish and school is awesome. We are more than pleased with the large number of parishioners who have discovered sacrificial giving (giving more than you think you can, trusting God a lot, and rejoicing in God’s outdoing your generosity to Him). For the last six years, we have been encouraging our parishioners to put God to the test. Step by step, you have been trying to approach the Biblical tithe of a 5% of income gift to your parish. You had been asked to try to give 2% of your income to our educational ministries and 1% of your income to the Annual Diocesan Appeal.

Our parish looks to the future. Our parish has been enlightening hearts and minds since 1909. Our Centennial celebration continues. As our entire parish moves more and more to tithing, you will notice that we have dropped Diocesan collections and these are now funded by our St. Paul the Apostle Charity Fund. Fundraisers will become less frequent as our St. Paul’s Charity Fund awards grants to those organizations that apply. Our parish takes 8% of our church envelope income and tithes it to our parish charities. We currently give 1.5% to St. Paul’s Works (to help the people who come to our doors), 1 0.5% to Churches United CARELink, 1% to Embracing Our Future (Scott County K-12 Catholic Schools) and 4% to our St. Paul the Apostle Charity Fund. We hope to do a lot of our future improvements to our school and parish through the budgeting process. Our whole parish is responsible for everyone in the parish. We are a family of faith.

For six years, parishioners utilizing our parish educational ministries signed a Stewardship Covenant with their parish noting how important Sunday Mass attendance is in your parish church with your family, how important it is for the entire family to be actively involved in the activities of your parish, and how important it is to share financially with your parish on a regular basis. It demands a commitment. Not everyone is prepared to carry through on that commitment. We remind you that our educational ministries (Religious Education, St. Paul the Apostle School, and Assumption High School) are provided so that the faith can be lived in the family. If some people sign our covenant and don’t come to Church or get involved in the parish and give meagerly through electronic transfer so they don’t have to be seen in church, their class position in our educational programs are not guaranteed. With so many students seeking enrollment in our schools, and with only a limited amount of openings available in our classrooms, priority will be given to those who are trying to live a Stewardship Way of Life. A growing number of our parishioners who are living the Stewardship Way of Life are finding that they are not paying any tuition at St. Paul the Apostle Religious Education, St. Paul the Apostle School, or Assumption High School because of our St. Paul the Apostle Stewardship Covenant Scholarships and their tithe of 8%.
